ABOUT MERRI CREEK 1 and 2
This series was inspired by daily walks along one of my favourite local spots, Merri Creek in Fitzroy North. I lived in the area for years and often headed down to the creek to reconnect with nature and escape the busyness of work and inner-city life. Once you wander beneath the train bridge, it's easy to forget you're still so close to the city. It feels like stepping into another world.
I'd spend time sitting by the water, watching the ducks go about their day and enjoying the little peaceful sanctuary they'd made for themselves. There was something incredibly restorative about being there. A chance to slow down, take a breath and just be.
Rather than recreating the landscape literally, I wanted to capture the feeling of being immersed in nature and the calm it brought me. The winding creek, stones shimmering in the morning light and surrounding bushland inspired the organic forms and earthy palette. Dry yellow-greens, soft earthy pinks and stone greys reflect the quieter, more subtle colours of this particular landscape.
These paintings are a way of holding onto the feeling of finding refuge in nature, even in the middle of a busy city. I miss having this little sanctuary so close since moving further north, but these works bring me back to a place that gave me so much space to breathe.
MERRI CREEK 2 is part of a pair, alongside MERRI CREEK 1. Created at the same time, the two works share a palette and intention. They can be shown together and look lovely as a complementary pair.

ABOUT FERTILE GROUND
This piece is an exploration of possibility, renewal and the conditions that allow us to grow.
Inspired by the grounded energy of the earth and the creative force of the divine feminine, this work reflects the many ways fertility can exist in our lives — through the body, through creativity, through connection, and through the things we nurture into being.
I was drawn to the idea of creating space for growth without force; of recognising that every season has its own needs, and that rest, nourishment and stillness are just as essential as expansion. There is a quiet power in learning to trust our own rhythms, honour our changing bodies and accept ourselves through every stage of becoming.
This painting holds the intention of returning to that inner ground — a place of nourishment, self-trust and possibility, where we can grow from a deeper sense of belonging to ourselves.
Fertile Ground is part of a pair, alongside Sacred Earth. Created as companion works, they sit beautifully together, bringing a sense of groundedness and organic harmony to a space. Both artworks are available as prints.

ABOUT SACRED EARTH
This piece explores the relationship between the body, the natural world and the quiet wisdom of the divine feminine.
Created with an earthy palette and a sense of organic unfolding, this work reflects the grounding quality of being deeply connected to ourselves — learning to listen to the body, honour its changing seasons and meet ourselves with greater compassion.
For me, the divine feminine is found in the capacity to receive, to nurture, to create and to allow. It is an invitation to move away from the pressure to be a certain way, and towards an acceptance of all that we are: our softness and strength, our growth and rest, our becoming and our being.
A reminder that we don't need to become someone else to feel whole. Sometimes, coming home to ourselves begins with simply allowing ourselves to be exactly where we are.
Sacred Earth is part of a pair, alongside Fertile Ground. Created as companion works, they sit beautifully together, bringing a sense of groundedness and organic harmony to a space. Both artworks are available as prints.

ABOUT IN DIVINE TIMING
This piece was created during a period of deep meditation and spiritual exploration, In Divine Timing reflects a time of learning to trust the unfolding of life rather than trying to control its direction.
As I moved through my own experiences of healing and change, I began to understand the quiet strength (although not always easy) in patience and surrender — in allowing space for things to emerge without needing to know exactly how or when they would arrive.
This work holds that intention: a reminder to slow down, listen inwardly and find peace in the spaces between knowing and becoming. To trust that even when the path ahead is unclear, there is so much power in allowing things to unfold, in divine timing.

EXPRESSIVE & INTUITIVE ABSTRACT
'Step Through the Cosmic Portal’ is certainly a conversational piece - it’s one of a kind that’s for sure! The vibrant colour palette and dynamic composition draw the eye in to a cosmic world of ethereal shapes and movement. The intricate layering allows you to explore the depths of its textures and patterns. Soft pastels intertwine with deeper hues, creating a delicate balance that fosters a sense of calm. Many people who’ve viewed this piece describe it as warm, inviting and peaceful - despite its bright palette. The lesson that vibrant can create tranquility.
"This artwork took 2 years to complete, with a lot of time in incubation. This was the first time using this brighter palette of deep ultramarine blue, aqua, lilac, soft pinks and pops of tangerine, which inspired a series of smaller works. It felt cosmic and otherworldly, as if being guided through a portal to another dimension. I had to be patient with this piece and let it come to form in its own time. It was worth the wait."
